Letter: Salisbury Pride puts on great show at Norvell

Last Saturday night, Salisbury witnessed an amazing talent program at the Norvell.

Hosted as a fundraiser by Salisbury Pride and sponsored by many caring citizens and organizations, attendees were treated to a concert of singing talent led by emcee and former Miss North Carolina Hailey Best. Accompanied throughout by Matthew Michael Brown’s wonderful piano work, almost 20 acts shared Broadway hits with the audience. The audience loved it given the applause and comments at intermission and after the show.

Everyone had their favorite performances, and ours ranged from Catawba student Nunna Noe’s rendition of “Superstar” to Carol Harris’ intense “Bring Him Home” to the absolutely show-stopping “Music of the Night,” sung by Hailey Best.

Hunter Safrit is an incredible Broadway talent, both solo and in a group, with great humor chops, too.

Salisbury Pride took this opportunity to share, enlighten and encourage support for education programs furthering understanding and to help those unfortunately living with HIV and AIDS.

We were honored to attend, we were entertained and proud to live in a community with the hearts and wallets that bring a bit more light into all of our lives.

Hats off to Tim Coffey and Salisbury Pride!
