Staff report
A would-be thief had a change of heart ó and perhaps a change of underwear ó when a huge German shepherd greeted him.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attempted break in at the James Alan Whaling residence at 515 Moon Circle.
Between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, someone attempted to gain entry to the house through a window.
Zeus, the German shepherd, jumped through the window.
Damage to the window was estimated at $100.
No information was available on damage to the would-be thief.
