Get ready for Davidson plant sale

LEXINGTON — Davidson County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association (DCEMGVA) will present its annual fall plant sale Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m.-noon.
It will take place at Lexington Farmers Market at the Depot, 129 S. Railroad St., Lexington.
Master Gardener Volunteers will donate plants from their yards for the sale. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of plants, including N.C. natives, at bargain prices.
Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted.
Master Gardener Volunteers will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.
Live Well Weekend
BELMONT – Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden will host Live Well Weekend on Sept. 21 and 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
During this weekend of family fun, the Garden encourages visitors to embrace healthy living and sustainable lifestyles.
Guests can visit with eco-friendly vendors, create children’s crafts, participate in a yoga session on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to noon with instructor Sandra Margo; listen to live music 1 to 3 p.m. each day (LA Acoustics on Saturday, Frank Adams on Sunday); relax in the Beer Garden from noon-4:30 p.m. and more.
Lunch from Roman’s All Star Cafe and carriage rides are available for purchase (cash only, $6/adult and $4/child, weather permitting).
OneBlood will host a blood drive on Sunday afternoon from noon-4 p.m. for those who would like to participate.
Guests are also encouraged to register in advance at www.DSBG.org for classes including Seasonal Container Gardening and Pure-Fume Workshop on Saturday and Six Ways to Invigorate Your Immunity with Dr. Drains and Orchids 101 on Sunday.
Garden admission applies. Garden members are admitted free, $14.95 per adult, $12.95 per senior 60+, $7.95 per child 2-12 and children under two are free.
