Elisabeth Jackman Fortin, 2217 Lower Palmer Road, reported a break-in at her residence on Oct. 20.
Fortin reported to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office that approximately $2,700 in valuables, including jewelry, electronics and a rifle, were taken. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Other arrests or reports for Oct. 20:
– Hunter J. Lewis was the victim of break-in at 2125 Seventh St., when four vending machines valued at $2,400 each were stolen. A 1987 Honda Prelude was also taken.
– Rick’s Big Truck Sales, 710 Campbell Road, Kannapolis, reported a worthless check for $8,000 was passed to pay for a truck. The buyer’s check was returned because of insufficient funds. He returned the truck.
– Tommy Lee Honeycutt of Rockwell reported his his 1977 Corvette was egged when it was parked at East Rowan High School during a tennis match.
– Brandy Michelle Short, 30, was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary.
– Jordan Saunders Prusia, 18, 106 S. U.S. 29, China Grove, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
Arrests or reports from Oct. 21:
– Sunshine Manufacturing of Rockwell reported a break-in where several hundred dollars worth of copper wire were stolen from the building.
– West Corinth Baptist Church, Mooresville, reported a break-in between Oct. 18 and 20 when someone entered the church and took a laptop computer.
– James Edward Watkins of Cleveland reported he was assaulted with a gun when two unidentified suspects burst through the front doorway and struck him in the head with the butt of a shotgun and a pistol. No shots were fired. The Sheriff’s Office reports the victim refused medical treatment and could find nothing missing from his house.
Arrests or reports from Oct. 22:
– Larry Anderson Orr, 16, 175 St. Luke’s Church Road, was arrested on charges of simple assault.
