A volley of gunfire interrupted a Salisbury man’s television watching early today.
Police believe someone walked into the front yard and opened fire with a 9 mm pistol.
Larry Evans of 430 Grim St., near Livingstone College, called 911 after hearing bullets hitting his home around 2 a.m.
Evans told Salisbury Police he counted about 10 shots hitting his home.
Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said officers found 10 bullet holes including six in the front door.
One bullet went through a window in the bedroom and struck a DVR.
Another went through a column in the front porch and continued on into the living room.
Police found one spent 9 mm bullet which had bounced off the livingroom wall. Wilhelm said they assume all of the bullets were 9 mm.
Wilhelm said Evans didn’t hear a vehicle.
Police found a cell phone and ball cap nearby that they believe may be linked to the shooter.
At this point, police are unsure of any motive.
Wilhelm said the neighborhood had been a rough in past years but had improved.
