Blotter: Thieves steal $4,200 in jewelry

A Kannapolis woman lost more than $4,200 worth of jewelry in a burglary of her home.
Sharon Lawing, 1300 Moose Road, reported to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office a forced entry of her house between Sept. 19 and Oct. 1.
Items taken included a Rolex blue face watch, a Movado watch, various diamond, gold and silver bracelets and earings.
The thieves broke a panel from a mahogany door, damaging it an estimated $1,500.
Incidents or arrests reported on Oct. 1:
– Two students at East Rowan High School were charged with interfering with the teaching of students following a disturbance.
Deputy W.R. Walker reported students were cursing at each other in a classroom and in the hallway during class period around 11:30 a.m.
Courtney Marie Bracken, 16, and Brittany Renee Stevens, were charged with misdemeanor interfering with teaching. Stevens was also charged with disorderly conduct.
– Two vehicles were damaged while parked in the West Rowan High School parking lot.
Damage to the vehicles, a 2006 F150 Ford and a 2002 Toyota Camry, totaled $1,000.
