Police cruiser damaged while investigating accident

A Salisbury Police car was rear-ended early Tuesday morning on Jake Alexander Boulevard.
The car was one of two patrol cars parked at a wreck scene on Jake Alexander Boulevard near the J.F. Hurley Family YMCA around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputy Police Chief Rory Collins said the cars were parked at the scene in such a way to shield the crash that they were investigating from oncoming traffic.
Kenneth Earl Rowland, 72, of 10095 Barringer Court, Mount Pleasant, drove his 1998 Nissan into the rear of the 2007 Ford Crown Victoria.
No injuries were reported.
The police car was damaged an estimated $2,000 with the Nissan damaged $2,500.
