SALISBURY — The North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership and the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce will host a forum on health care at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Norvell Theater.

Hometown Debate will focus on health insurance regulations and access.

The theater will open at 6 p.m.

“The Rowan Chamber is proud to co-present the Hometown Debate in our community for the second year in a row,” said chamber President Elaine Spalding.

The forum is a continuation of a series that began in 2016. The institute is hosting four nights of debate in September and early October, focusing on health care issues facing North Carolina.

On Tuesday, the institute held a debate about Medicaid expansion in Lexington. Debates are scheduled in Greenville on Oct. 8 about rural access to health care and in Henderson on Oct. 17 about delivery of medical services.

Spectrum News’ Loretta Boniti will moderate the debate in Salisbury. Scheduled panelists are state Rep. Carla Cunningham, D-Mecklenburg; former state Rep. Bill Brawley; Brendan Riley of the N.C. Justice Center; and Jordan Roberts of the John Locke Foundation.

Spectrum News will feature the debate on spectrumlocalnews.com. An abbreviated version will air on “In Focus” at 11:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
