SALISBURY – The 40th annual Autumn Jubilee will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Dan Nicholas Park, 6800 Bringle Ferry Road.
The jubilee is held the first weekend in October and offers live music, food and crafts vendors. According to Rowan County Parks and Recreation, the annual festival attracts more than 50,000 visitors from across Rowan County and the state.
“Visitors this year will be able to look forward to good food, great entertainment, a children’s area, all kinds of crafts and more,” said Andrea Baucom, special events coordinator for Dan Nicholas Park.
Baucom said some new things are in store this year, too.
“We’ll have a children’s area, Jurassic Park inflatable, bungee jump, a rock wall, pumpkin painting, face painting, a ‘bubbleologist,’ and a number of musical artists,” she said. “I’m always excited about the different food, crafts and just the variety of handmade items. … It will be gorgeous weather, and I hope everyone has a really good time.”
Ashley Duncan, administrative assistant with Parks and Recreation, said Autumn Jubilee is nostalgic.
“I just love this event in general. Before I worked the event, I attended for many years,” Duncan said.
She said autumn is her favorite season and seeing pumpkins and fall crafts during Autumn Jubilee brings back fond memories.
