Salisbury Police made quick work of recovering a 2002 Ford Excursion which was stolen from the Woodleaf Lanes parking lot Thursday night.
Police recovered the vehicle and arrested three teenagers at gunpoint a short time later.
Joshua Lashaun Grissett, 18, of 267 Dappler Lane; Darius Renel Hawkins, 220 Pinecrest St.; and Roderic Alexander Rowland were charged with one felony count of larceny each.
Police got the call around 9:30 p.m. Thursday from Jonathan Lynch, reporting the stolen vehicle. While at the scene filling out a report on the theft and other break-ins, police got a second call ó the owner had spotted his stolen vehicle at Lakewood Apartments.
Officers responded to see three people around the Ford. When they saw the police, they jumped into a Dodge Durango. Officer Phil Simmons held the three at gunpoint until additional officers arrived to assist.
The three teens told police that they were out riding around and found the Ford in the apartment parking lot. They jumped in it and began taking items out and taking photos.
According to Simmons’ report, several items stolen from the Ford were recovered from the Dodge Durango, including the owner’s manual from the Ford, a portable DVD player, a gym bag of clothes belonging to Michael Coe which had been stolen from his vehicle, also parked at Woodleaf Lanes.
Other items recovered from the vehicle included a gun-shaped knife, a digital camera and a zap gun. The digital camera included pictures of the three teens and others sitting in the stolen SUV.
Grissett, Hawkins and Rowland were also charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
