Fire damages Patterson Avenue home

KANNAPOLIS ó A home on Patterson Avenue was damaged by smoke and heat Monday night.
At 10:26 p.m. on Monday, the Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 525 Patterson Ave.
Fire crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home. The cause of the fire was unattended cooking.
One resident was home at the time. No injuries were reported.
The home suffered smoke and heat damage and as a result the Cabarrus County Chapter of the American Red Cross was called to assist this family.
