Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden hosts plant sale Saturday

BELMONT – Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden will host a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The selection of plants for home gardens will include native plants perfect for the region as well as pollinators’ favorites.

The sale will feature plants that have been named Plant of the Year since 1991, butterfly host plants such as milkweed and butterfly weed, and plants that offer fall interest such as climbing aster and camellia varieties.

The garden’s horticulture staff will be available to answer questions and help shoppers make their selections. Garden members receive 10% off all plant purchases.

The Lost Hollow Music Fest is scheduled Saturday and Sunday. The festival will kick off Saturday with Province of Thieves at noon followed by Stepside Deluxe at 2 p.m. and headliners David Holt and Josh Goforth at 4 p.m.

The festival will continue on Sunday with Tom Eure & Amelia Osborne at noon, Chatham Rabbits at 2 p.m. and Darin and Brooke Aldridge at 4 p.m.

The beer garden will be open from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. each day — weather permitting — serving craft brews and wine.

A member preview of the plant sSale will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday. Garden members can enjoy cookies and lemonade while browsing the plant selection. Members can register in advance at www.DSBG.org.

Admission to the plant sale and music festival are included with general garden admission.

In celebration of the garden’s 20th anniversary in October, “retro” admission pricing applies through Sunday at $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $4 for children 2-12.

Members receive free daytime admission.
