Youth series continues at Pfeiffer
As Pfeiffer University works to assist youth ministries and youth groups in the area, the Village Church of Pfeiffer will host an evening with representatives and performers from “To Write Love On Her Arms,” a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.
This event, which is the second in the Sunday Night Alive! series sponsored by the Village Church at Pfeiffer, will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The event is free and open to the public. All youth groups and youth ministries in the area are invited to attend.
Depression often comes with anxiety disorders and substance abuse, with 30 percent of teens with depression also developing a substance abuse problem, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. “To Write Love on Her Arms” exists to encourage, inform and inspire and also invest directly into treatment and recovery.
Sunday Night Alive! encourages youth groups and individuals to attend praise and worship festivities. Each event is on the third Sunday of every month at 6 p.m.
These events are made possible, in part, by a three-year grant to the Village Church from the Duke Endowment to support a multifaceted cooperative youth programming initiative in Stanly County.
