The FirstARTS series of First United Methodist Church opens its 12th season season of concerts on Friday with “An Evening of Celtic Splendor” performed by Canto Zenzero, “The Singing Gingers” from Chicago.

Their performance will include a collage of show tunes, English art songs, and familiar favorites such as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Pie Jesu” from Requiem and “O Danny Boy.”

Canto Zenzero consists of four vocalists accompanied by internationally renowned pianist, Riko Higuma. Salisbury native Ginny Weant is a founding member of the ensemble. Other artists include soprano Kathleen Monson and mezzo-soprano, Brynn Bixby.

FirstARTS is under the artistic direction of Matthew Michael Brown . First United Methodist Church is located at 217 S. Church St.
