Kudos to Mayor Al Heggins for promoting Salisbury and initiatives taking place here when she participates in various mayor conventions that she attends.

The connections and networking she has achieved as mayor drew the attention of the White House to the opportunity zones in Salisbury. This prompted the White House to send Scott Turner, executive director of the White House Opportunities and Revitalization Council, to meet with elected officials and community leaders from Salisbury, Spencer and East Spencer to learn more about the opportunities here.

Thank you Mayor Heggins. As I learn more about our city through research, attending city council meetings and personally speaking with Mayor Heggins I am impressed with her knowledge, her fairness and her efforts to unite a community that has divergent ideologies.

She is sincerely devoted to having a government that works for all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender preference, economic status or political affiliation. She has proven herself to be an asset and a very effective member of the city council.
