Disney’s Christmas Carol train opened its doors this morning at the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer for visitors to learn more about the new “Christmas Carol” movie.
The train includes artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London, art from the movie, behind-the-scenes videos, a model of technology used to integrate actors and drawings, and computers that morph visitors faces to look like faces from movie characters.
Outside the train, a theater is set up to show a preview and movie scenes in 3-D. Singers from Raleigh dressed in Dickens-era garb perform Christmas carols near the entrance.
Samantha Schwartz, a spokesperson for the train tour, said she doesn’t know how many people will visit the exhibit for the weekend because every city is different, but she said Friday afternoons are usually “jam-packed” as children get out of school.
“It will be a very busy weekend,” she said.
The Spencer stop is the train’s 34th in a 40-city tour. The train will be parked at the transportation museum today and tomorrow, open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
