WINSTON-SALEM ― Novant Health has been named one of three corporate champions for women and children by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GWFC) of North Carolina.
Organizations recognized as “corporate champions” for women and children are selected for their support and assistance to women and children across the state of North Carolina.
A news release said over the past several years Novant Health has dedicated significant resources for women and children through the Novant Health Foundations and community partnerships. Programs such as Forsyth Connects in Winston-Salem, which provides home visits for mothers and babies from nurses within 21 days post-discharge, were examples a news release cited of connecting families to community resources. Novant Health also offers programs to support breastfeeding, including baby cafes, which are free resources for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to get support from lactation consultants; as well as a partnership with Johnson C. Smith University to enhance the diversity of lactation consultants within the industry.
