Hit-and-run driver injures pedestrian in Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS ó Police were looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian on Dale Earnhardt Boulevard Tuesday evening and kept going.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at the Vance Street intersection ó near the old Post Office.
Sgt. Terry Spry said the male victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center ó NorthEast and was undergoing evaluation.
No other information was available on the victim.
Spry said the vehicle was a dark colored SUV which was traveling north on Earnhardt Boulevard ó going toward West C Street.
Spry said the driver would definitely have known that they had hit something.
Based on material left at the scene, the vehicle sustained some damage.
