Come and taste, then vote on the best chili recipes in Rowan County at the 11th Annual Big Chili Cookoff on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the F&M Trolley Barn. Guests may begin entering the event at 6:30 p.m. through the front doors of Waterworks Visual Arts Center, at 123 East Liberty Street in Historic Salisbury’s East Square Cultural Arts District. Volunteer chili makers will simmer up and serve their favorite chili recipe. Traditional, nouveau, spicy, white, savory, meaty, and vegetarian recipes will fill the F&M Trolley Barn with amazing, mouthwatering aromas. While enjoying chili, beer, & wine, tasters will vote with provided coins, to help their favorite chili (or cook) win the Big Chili award. Line dancing instructors will get the party going to DJ tunes by Virtual Sounds, and guests can compete to win the always-outstanding raffle prizes and top off their tummies with delicious dessert. Chili Cookoff winners will be revealed at 9:30 p.m., and dancing will continue until 11. Waterworks’ galleries will be open the entire evening.
