A power outage hit sections of downtown Salisbury around 2:30 p.m. Monday.
A spokesman for Duke Energy said around 800 customers were affected, including homes and businesses. The outage lasted around 90 minutes.
Traffic lights along East Innes Street and Martin Luther King Avenue went out as did power at several businesses, including Kmart and Office Depot.
The police department and many businesses in the downtown, including the Salisbury Post, experienced a brief outage that knocked out phone systems.
According to the Duke spokesman, all customers were restored by 3:50 p.m.
Some utility lines apparently got tangled, causing the outage.
