I would like to thank all the participants at the veteran’s evening in the East Rowan auditorium on Monday night.

We were entertained by a choral group from Granite Quarry Elementary School. The patriotic songs they sang were excellent.

They were followed by the East Rowan Chorus, under the direction of Dean Orbinson.

Then, the East Rowan Band performed several patriotic songs that saluted the different branches of the Armed Forces. They performed under the direction of Mrs. Emily McNeil.

The closing number, played by the joint chorus and band, was absolutely magnificent.

Being there made me so glad that I live in a country where we can hear the great music of our beautiful young people. Thank you all for a great evening.
