Nonprofit organizations focused on workforce development, dropout prevention or healthcare affordability can apply for a grant from the Cabarrus County Community Foundation.
The foundation will award grants that support the 2008 Cabarrus County Community Needs Assessment, which identified three key issues and needs: workforce development, literacy and health screening and prevention.
Grant proposals must fall into one of these three areas. Applicants must be nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations serving Cabarrus County citizens. Grants do not cover book publication, conferences, endowment funds, individual needs or operating budgets beyond the seed level.
Applications can be downloaded from www.cabarruscounty-cf.org and are due Oct. 9. For more information, call Karen Coppadge, grants specialist, 704-973-4559 or e-mail kcoppadge@fftc.org.
The Cabarrus County Community Foundation is a permanent endowment established in 1989 by local leaders to benefit a broad range of charitable purposes.
