Tonight: Outreach Christian Ministries church anniversary
Outreach Christian Ministries, 722 W. Horah St., is celebrating its church anniversary with services tonight through Sunday. Guest speakers are Apostle R.G. Williams from Hawthorne, Fla. and Apostle Curtis Lake from Bethel Springs, Tenn. Services through Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday service will start at 11 a.m.
Fairview Heights
The Outreach Ministry of Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will be at Brightmoor Nursing Center, 610 W. Fisher St., at 11 a.m. Saturday. The speaker will be Faye Howell, associate minister of FHMBC. Host pastor is Rev. Clarence E. Marlin.
Jerusalem Baptist Deacon, Deaconess and Trustee Day
SPENCER — Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1570 N. Long St., will celebrate Deacon, Deaconess and Trustee Day on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. The speaker will be Bishop Harvey Rice, retired pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Church. Rice has been in the ministry for more than 58 years.
Special music will be provided by the combined JBC choirs. All auxiliaries are asked to dress in the appropriate attire. Dr. David L. Bracken is host pastor.
Pastor appreciation at Boxwood Missionary Baptist
MOCKSVILLE — The Pastor’s Aid Ministry of Boxwood Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring the 11th Pastoral Anniversary Appreciation Service for Rev. Gary S. Milton and First Lady Diane Milton, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m.
The 11 a.m. speaker is Rev. Randy Melton of God’s Will Be Done Ministries, and the 3 p.m. speaker will be Bishop Nathan Milton of the Cathedral of Deliverance Church of Greensboro.
Stewardship program at Hall’s Chapel
Hall’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 611 E. Monroe St., presents its Pastor’s Aid Stewardship program on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Elder Katy Crockett of Mt. Calvary Holy Church.
Host pastor is Elder Richard Johnson.
Immanuel Lutheran community Thanksgiving service
ROCKWELL — Immanuel Lutheran hosts its Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Rev. Carlin Ours, pastor of Organ Lutheran, will deliver the message. The Rockwell Community Choir will present an anthem directed by Kevin Sloop of Grace Lower Stone Church, accompanied by Immanuel’s Dr. Rob.
The Immanuel Joyful Ringers Handbell Choir will perform and vocalists Christy Trexler and Josh Trexler will sing.
Bring non-perishable goods for Organ Community Outreach Ministries, especially peanut butters, jellies and canned pastas such as spaghetti.
Following the service, the Immanuel Youth will host a time of fellowship with refreshments. Rev. Bruce Sheeks is host pastor.
Community service at Mt. Zion Lutheran
RICHFIELD — Mt. Zion Lutheran Church will host the Richfield Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m. Rev. Rick Clough, pastor of Richfield United Methodist, will preach.
A reception will follow. Everyone is encouraged to bring a donation of canned goods or paper products for the Crossroads Connection Good Neighbor Pantry.
FUMC hosts Harvest Procession on Sunday
First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., celebrates Thanksgiving by providing ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal for Rowan County neighbors in need.
Last year’s goal was to collect 100 filled grocery bags, and the church ended up with 202 bags totaling 2,331 lbs. of donated food.
All of the food collected at this second annual event, during Sunday’s morning service, will be delivered to Rowan Helping Ministries on Monday.
The church is providing blue reusable grocery tote bags, sponsored by local businesses, for members to fill with groceries and return on Sunday morning.
Also included is a suggested shopping list: two large cans of vegetables, large can of fruit, box of instant mashed potatoes, bag of rice, can of gravy (no glass), box of cornbread/biscuit/muffin mix, box of stuffing and optional box cake mix with can of frosting.
Blue tote bags are available at FUMC, 217 S. Church St., but groceries will be happily received in any grocery bag.
Worship times are 8:30 and 11 a.m. Youth will be at the Church Street sanctuary entrance to offer assistance with carrying groceries on Sunday morning.

‘Thanksliving’ at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist
Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church celebrates the season of Thanksgiving and “Thanksliving” by hosting its annual Community Thanksgiving Day Worship at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. Bishop Harvey Rice, retired pastor of Mount Calvary Holy Church, will deliver the message.
