At the meeting of Rowan Retired School Personnel on Nov. 20, President Lila Bostian presented a check for $500 and donations of new socks and underwear to Neely Laurens in honor of American Education Week.

Ms. Laurens is the District Liaison for Rowan Salisbury Schools and works with homeless and at risk students.

The guest speaker at the meeting was Legionnaire of the Year Mae Carroll, of the American Legion J.C. Price Post. We thank her for her service as an Air Force flight nurse and what she is doing now in the community to help people of all ages.
