Rowan County Democrats will gather Thursday evening for their annual picnic.
The picnic will be in the air conditioned comfort of the Wagon Wheel at 6460 U.S. 601.
Those attending are asked to bring picnic foods or covered dishes.
The event gets under way at 6 p.m..
Genoal Russell, local party chairman, said some local officeholders are expected to attend, including Rep. Lorene Coates.
