A report from a national agency about the 2008 fire at the Salisbury Millworks yielded nine recommendations.
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, an arm of the Centers for Disease Control, released the report Aug. 17.
The recommendations include establishing and improving different modes of communication, limiting risk and developing and following a plan. Two recommendations were targeted toward equipment manufacturers.
The report gives details of the firefighters’ activities during the fire and outlines factors that contributed to the deaths of two firefighters and injuries of two others.
