Hunter earns Eagle Scout Award today

Patrick Hunter will receive his Eagle Scout award today at at First Baptist Church in Salisbury.
Scoutmaster Phil Koon of Troop 351, sponsored by Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, will make the presentation.
Hunter, 18, is a senior at Carson High School and the son of Lynn and Deborah Hauss of Salisbury and Dale Hunter of China Grove.
For his Eagle Scout project, he cleaned and re-marked a nature trail at Dan Nicholas Park.
He has received the Arrow of Light from Cub Scouts, and earned 27 merit badges in Scouts, as well as the Order of the Arrow.
He is active in the youth group at First Baptist, the Living Christmas Tree choir. He is worship leader of the Youth Praise band at First Baptist and on the youth mission team.
At Carson, he is in the National Honor Society and is FFA vice president.
