Bring in a car battery, get a buck ó and help save the environment, too.
AAA Carolinas is offering $1 for each car or boat battery brought in to a AAA Car Care Center in North Carolina during Earth Week (April 19-25).
“Improperly disposed batteries do serious harm to our environment,” says David Parsons, president of AAA Carolinas. “This program is a win-win for everyone, including motorists, AAA, battery recycle centers and the environment at large.
In Rowan County, the participating repair shops are Firestone Complete Auto Care, 1014 E. Innes St. (704-797-0137), and J&A Auto Service, 4695 Long Ferry Road (704-636-4100).
Nationwide, AAA’s annual Great Battery Roundup has collected more than 75,000 batteries during Earth Week since 2001. Residents of the Carolinas have recycled more than 4,700 batteries.
