Crime blotter: Salisbury man charged with not paying child support to three women

A Salisbury man was picked up by Salisbury Police for allegedly not paying child support to three different women.
Alvin Cecil Watkins, 44, of 910 S. Jackson St. was charged March 28 with three counts misdemeanor failure to comply.
According to a report, Watkins failed to pay one woman $1,150, another $1,300 and a third woman $550.
Watkins remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $3,000 bond.

– A 44-year-old woman reported a March 28 assault on North Jackson Street.
– Joshua Lee Eby reported a March 28 robbery at gunpoint at Economy Inn, 322 Bendix Drive.
– Linda Crockett Holland reported on March 28 someone took her checks, a camera and rings at 620 S. Caldwell St.
– Tecoya Stafford, 20, and Niquita Monique Brown, 23, were charged with misdemeanor concealment of merchandise, or shoplifting clothing from Wal-Mart, valued at $92.87.
– Van Johnny Helton reported on March 28 assorted tools were taken from 1050 Sidney Lane by employees and were pawned.
– An unknown offender attempted to rob the Poppe Shoppe at 1831 W. Innes St. on March 29.
– On March 29, a suspect who claimed to have a gun robbed Rushco No. 16, 1518 E. Innes St., of cigarettes.
– A 70-year-old woman reported a March 29 assault on Clancy St.
