Senior Democrats of Rowan County will hold their monthly meeting April 21 at the Tower of Power church, 160 E. Cemetery St., Salisbury. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the meeting begins at noon.
Speakers will be Kathy McDuffy, director of Secondary Education Mentoring Services for Rowan-Salisbury Schools, and Darlene McElroy, who will discuss the impact of new possibilities in stem cell research.
Those attending are asked to bring donations of non-perishable food for Rowan Helping Ministries. Last year, Democrats collected and donated 1,000 pounds of food ,and they hope to increase that amount this year.
Membership in the Senior Democrats of Rowan County is open to all persons 50 or older. Meetings are open to all.
