Veteran officer retires from Salisbury PD
Master Police Officer Mike McCart retired from the Salisbury Police Department May 1.
Salisbury City Council approved giving him his service sidearm for a payment of $1. McCart also received his badge.
McCart retired after 30 years in law enforcement. He had joined the Salisbury department in February 1985. Previously, he was a police officer in Mount Olive.
Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said McCart will serve as a reserve officer. He also will continue teaching law enforcement.
