The Rolling Oakley Lab will be parked Friday at the Eye Care Center at 2120 Statesville Blvd.
The mobile lab will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-3p.m.
It is described as a 40-foot, self-contained science facility meant to challenge every notion people have about sunglasses.
“The Rolling Oakley Lab will give you a taste of technology that will forever change your point of view, and that view will have the unsurpassed clarity and unbeatable protection of Oakley’s High Definition Optics,” a company press release said.
Three Rolling Oakley Labs tour the country and offer live optical demonstrations.
Each lab includes large plasma displays, case displays and an electronics cart with touch screens.
The coach also tows a 20-foot hospitality trailer that provides a business center with guest seating and electronic media.
