Mathis-Freeman Wedding

Kristen Mathis, who grew up in Granite Quarry, and Seth Freeman of Cherryville were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, in Granite Quarry’s Shiloh United Methodist Church. Rev. Jonathan Marlowe, a former pastor of the church, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Joe Frank Mathis of Granite Quarry and the late Deborah Ann Mathis. Parents of the bridegroom are Gary and Karen Freeman of Cherryville.
A speech pathologist in Shelby, the bride is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she also earned a master’s degree. Her husband is a Davidson College graduate and teaches high school mathematics in Cherryville, where they will make their home.
Kaetlyn McNabb was maid of honor. Camille Harden, Sara Cagle, Annie Gallagher, Sara Holmes and Anna Louise Alexander were bridesmaids.
Michael Loeb served as best man. Groomsmen included Tyler Buff, Drew Gadaire, Bryan DaCanal and the bride’s brothers, Jared Mathis and Matthew Mathis.
Alli Anthony was flower girl.
Pianist Tina Grubb and Michelle Harden, violinist, provided music.
The ceremony included a homily by Rev. Marlowe, who was pastor of the church during the bride’s elementary and high school years. The bridegroom’s uncle, Rev. David Qualls, read the scripture, John 15:9-17.
Following the ceremony, a dining reception hosted by the bride’s father was held in Salisbury at the Rowan County Museum.
