A Spencer woman charged with trying to burn a car and threatening a Lexington woman also was cited for a traffic violation by the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Kimberly Mendoza Abouegla, 44, of 502 South Carolina Ave., was charged with driving while license revoked, attempted burning of personal property, communicating threats and injury to personal property.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged the Spencer resident after a Lexington woman stated that Abouegla came into her house and threatened to do her bodily harm. The woman said Abouegla came to her house Saturday and then returned on Sunday with a weapon, making threats again.
Neither the warrant nor the statement indicated what kind of weapon was used.
Abouegla again left but then returned, went to a shed and got a gas can and poured it on a 1997 Honda Accord with “intent to injure or prejudice” the victim,” a warrant said.
The N.C. Highway Patrol stopped Abouegla Sunday evening and charged her with driving while her license was revoked.
Abouegla was released from the Rowan County Detention Center under $5,000 bond.
