The public is invited to open houses today at two new apartment buildings offering affordable housing for people with developmental disabilities.
Sponsored by The Arc of North Carolina and The Arc of Rowan, the open house at the apartment building at 1010 S. Fulton St. is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The open house at the 210 E. 15th St. apartment building will follow from 3 to 6 p.m.
A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. at the South Fulton Street apartment building. Bring your friends for refreshments and tour the new apartments.
The apartment buildings were constructed by The Arc of North Carolina with an $800,800 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Arc of Rowan will be the local operating unit for the two, 2,000-square-foot quadplexes, both of which will feature two apartments on the front and two on the back.
