SALISBURY — Two people were injured in separate shootings Friday evening in Salisbury.
In a shooting at Lakewood Apartments, off of Statesville Boulevard, one person was injured and transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, said police spokesman Lt. Greg Beam. The person was shot in the hip and hand, according to scanner traffic.
In a separate shooting in the 300 block of South Merritt Avenue, a person was shot in the hand. That person was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Beam said.
Neither of the two sustained life-threatening injuries, Beam said.
Asked whether the shootings were connected, he said officers are investigating the incidents.
Beam was unable to say whether the two were connected to another that occurred early Friday morning in which a 17-year-old was shot.
