SALISBURY — Zay Kesler scored 16 points, and Salisbury’s boys stayed in the thick of the race in the Central Carolina Conference with a breezy 68-45 win against East Davidson.
Eleven different Hornets scored in the romp.
The Hornets (7-3, 5-2) were up 35-14 at halftime and stayed a game behind front-runner Lexington.
Lexington’s only league loss was to the Hornets — in overtime.
Isaac Moretz scored 10 to lead the Golden Eagles (1-11, 1-6).

LEXINGTON — Lexington took a 13-point lead against South Rowan after a quarter and rolled to a 73-49 win.
Derrick Dearmon scored 19, Rahmel Ewart had 16, and 6-foot-8 Alex Holt had 14 as the Yellow Jackets (8-3, 6-1) stayed in first place in the Central Carolina Conference.
South (1-11. 1-6) has dropped seven straight since beating Oak Grove and is tied for ninth with East Davidson.
Braden Graham again led the Raiders. He made three 3-pointers and scored 19. Jacob Ritchie had a season-high 10 points, while Barrett Thompson scored nine.

LEXINGTON — North Davidson won at Central Davidson, 57-52, to stay in a tie for second place in the Central Carolina Conference.
Jamarien Dalton scored 24 for the Black Knights (7-4, 5-2). Corey Casilac (13) and Jacob Myers (12) were in double figures for the Spartans (7-4, 4-3).

GRANITE QUARRY — In a non-conference game, Robinson outscored East Rowan, 80-73.
East (2-12) got off to a fast start and stayed in the game with the Bulldogs (7-5) by making 11 3-pointers, including five by freshman Dylan Valley.
The 73 points were a season-high for East, but the Bulldogs were hard to stop.
“It probably was the best game our guys have played this season,” East interim coach Trey Ledbetter said. “The game plan was to make double-digit 3s and hold them in the low 70s and we almost pulled if off. We just made too many turnovers and Robinson made their free throws at the end of the game.”
David Jordan scored a career-high 19 points for East. Valley’s 16 was a career-high. Jake Hunter scored 15, with two 3-pointers and some post moves.
Josh Abee scored 23 for Robinson, while Justin Boateng had 21. Ledbetter said Boateng played “fantastic.”
Gavin Sprinkle aggravated an ankle injury, but Vincent Jones gave the Mustangs a lot of good minutes.

KERNERSVILLE — East Forsyth’s boys picked up a 60-55 non-conference win against Ragsdale.
Will Rhodes (17 points) and Zyun Reeves (16) led the Eagles (2-7).

MOCKSVILLE — Brooks Johnson scored 18 and Za’Haree Maddox scored 17 as Davie pulled out a 68-66 overtime win against East Surry.
Davie (10-3) outscored the Cardinals, 7-5, in the overtime period.
East Surry got a late start after winning the 1AA football state championship and is 4-1.

Keshawn Hollie and Jaquerris Pressley led the romp with 10 points each.
