HARROGATE, Tenn. — Lincoln Memorial showed why it’s ranked third nationally in Division II on Saturday.
It was hyped as a South Atlantic Conference and regional showdown, but 16th-ranked Catawba, which got to halftime down, 49-41, ran into a buzz-saw in the second half and lost 110-85.
Lincoln Memorial expanded its lead to 20 early in the second half.
Catawba (11-3, 6-2) was down 29 when it scored the last four points of the contest.
Catawba shot 40 percent from the floor and 5-for-20 from 3-point range.
Courvoisier McCauley scored 29 for the Railsplitters (15-1,8-0), who have won 15 straight. Julius Brown scored 27, and Anthony Brown had 21.
Terrence Whitfield led Catawba with 17 points. Devin Cooper and Marcell Haskett had 13 each.
Catawba plays at Queens on Wednesday.
