Prayer breakfast at Tower of Power
The men of the Tower of Power United Holy Church. 601 Cemetery St., will host their first prayer breakfast of the new year at the church on Saturday at 8 a.m.

The Outreach Ministry of Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will be at Brightmoor Nursing Center, 610 W. Fisher St., at 11 a.m. Saturday.

18th anniversary of God’s Tabernacle for Believers
ROCKWELL — God’s Tabernacle for Believers, 304 West Main St., will celebrate its 18th anniversary on Sunday. The guest speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be Dale White pastor of Gray’s Chapel United Church of Christ in Statesville.
Reginald Dean McConneaughey Sr. is host pastor.
Hall’s Temple honors Overseer
Hall’s Temple Church will be honoring Overseer Mother Turner on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The speaker will be Pastor Ricky Johnson of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Owens in concert at Pine Ridge Baptist
CHINA GROVE — Caroline Owens will be singing at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 880 Old Linn Road, on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. Owens has opened for the Larry Gatlin show. There will be other groups singing as well.
Lunch will be served at noon and at 1:30 we will return to the sanctuary for more music.

Marie Clinton Day at Cedar Grove
The Buds of Promise of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, 2430 Hildebrand Road, will observe Marie L. Clinton Day on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. Little Miss Kennedi Cornelius of Sills Creek AME Zion Church will be the guest speaker.
Kennedi is a 3rd grader at West Rowan Elementary. She enjoys arts and crafts, singing, dancing and spending time with her family especially her baby sister Korryn. Kennedi is the daughter of LaFonda Cornelius and granddaughter of Ernestine and the late Rev. Rudolph Cornelius.
The children will participate in the service. Rev. Dr. Bertha Pittman is host pastor.

Hood to host Cultural Heritage Program
CHARLOTTE — The Hood Theological Seminary Alumni Association, Charlotte Chapter will host the Cultural Heritage Program on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Dwayne Anthony Walker, pastor of Little Rock AME Zion Church in Charlotte.
Musical entertainment will be performed by the Johnson C. Smith University Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Shawn Allyce White. The event will be located at Grace AME Zion Church at 3722 David Cox Road.
