KANNAPOLIS ó The Kannapolis Police are investigating a traffic death that occurred early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened in the 2200 block of Trinity Church Road at 1:51 a.m.
The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of the family, a statement said.
The driver of a 1995 Ford Ranger pickup was initially traveling north on Trinity Church Road.
The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree. The damaged caused by the impact was substantial, contributing to the death of the driver, the statement said.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
