Sheriff's blotter: Car broken into

A car thief took an ash tray and coins from a vehicle that was broken into in China Grove.
Patricia Ann Hill reported on April 7 her car was broken into sometime in the middle of the night or early morning.
The thief took an ash tray, coins and a car radio. The Rowan County Sheriff’s is investigating the incident that occurred at 1380 Kimball Road.

– Darryl Keith Starnes reported on April 7 someone stole his handgun at 160 Cromer Road.
– Brent David Sides reported on April 7 somone stole an air compressor from his garage at 510 Potneck Road.
– Marcus Brian Hurlocker, 34, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female after arguing with a woman over a gambling problem at U.S. 601.
– Christopher Lee Carter, 23, was charged April 7 with felony breaking and entering at 2500 Earle St., Kannapolis.
– Eric Shane Carpenter, 35, was charged April 7 with driving while impaired at 100 Catawba Drive.
– Bryan Joseph Smith, 25, was charged April 7 with misdemeanor assault on a female.
– Jonathan Stewart Brock, 23, was charged April 7 with misdemeanor assault on a female.
– Anthony Brian Smyre, 17, was charged April 7 with felony robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon.
