Police blotter: Students detained after leaving campus

Two students were detained by police after leaving campus during the school day on Feb. 24. One of the students, a juvenile, was suspended following the incident. Police located a pocket knife on the other student, Rodney Dalton. Dalton was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. He was also suspended from school.

– On Feb. 22, Robert David Crawford reported someone damaged his lawn with a vehicle at 628 S. Fulton St. Estimated damage was $500.
– On Feb. 22, Sontell Monique Henderson reported someone attempted forcible entry to her home at 607 N. Clay St.
– On Feb. 23, representatives of Bell South reported someone damaged a utility pole with a vehicle. Estimated damage is $1,000.
– On Feb. 23, HD Supply, 408 Long Meadow Drive, reported someone spray-painted the side of a building and an air conditioning unit. Damage was estimated at $700.
– On Feb. 23, Century Place and Screen Mates, 1455 Harrison Road, reported vandalism.
– On Feb. 23, Rowan Business Forms, 500 Vance Ave., reported someone pried through a chain link fence to get into the docking area of the building and cut a lock off the storage area for the propane tanks used for forklifts, sometime between Feb. 20 and 23.
– On Feb. 23, Latasha Capri Savage, 26, reported someone stole a cell phone from her vehicle while it was parked at 2010 Statesville Blvd.
– On Feb. 23, Walter Monroe Goodman reported someone stole a cell phone from his car while it was parked at Food Lion, 525 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.
– On Feb. 23, Comfort Suites, 1040 E. Innes St., reported someone stole money from the cash register.
– On Feb. 24, representatives from Rental Car Finance Corp., 530 S. Jake Alexander Blvd., reported someone stole a vehicle and wrecked it.
– On Feb. 24, Robin Mark Wilson 2212 Hillcrest Place, reported someone stole an amplifier and two speakers from his vehicle.
– On Feb. 24, Rodney Nelson Land reported someone stole an AM/FM CD/DVD player from his car while it was parked at 209 Long Meadow Drive. The system was valued at $400.
– On Feb. 24, Louis A. Presutti reported kids threw rocks at his car while it was parked at 18 Kershaw Court. Damage was estimated at $500.
– On Feb. 24, Joyce Nadine Dickey reported someone broke the passenger window of her vehicle while it was parked at 725 S. Jake Alexander Blvd.
– On Feb. 24, Samantha Anna Vidal reported someone broke into her car while it was parked at 2300 W. Innes St. and removed the stereo.
– On Feb. 24, Antonio Gilberto Berris Torrez, 407 Ferndale Drive, reported someone stole items from his vehicle.
– On Feb. 22, Dario Shwatwan Hamilton, 19, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, Schedule VI, at 1920 Old Wilkesboro Road.
