Babysitting app expanding to Rowan County

Bambino Technologies, Inc. has announced its introduction of its babysitting app to Rowan County.

The app allows for parents to find, look and pay local sitters through integrated social connections. Sitters are reviewed and recommended by friends and neighbors. The app also allows for booking, scheduling reminders and making payments.

Community managers are hand-selected in each area of the country where Bambino has launched. The managers recruit talented, top sitters, communicate with parents, answer questions and host events.

Bambino was launched in Rowan County by Carole Parrott of Salisbury, who has three children who are active babysitters in the Rowan, Chapel Hill and Wilimington areas.

Bambino was founded in June 2015 by Sean Greene of Pacific Palisades, Calif. The idea was born one evening when plans were cancelled because Greene simply couldn’t come up with a sitter. Meanwhile, as he drove through his neighborhood he thought of the dozens of potential sitters at home on their couches who would probably rather be making money and watching his kids, but he had no way of reaching them. A year later, Bambino launched with Greene as CEO.

Since its release in June 2016, Bambino now more than 35,000 registered sitters and over 40,000 parents.

“Already, Bambino is becoming a major part of families’ lives,” Greene said. “It’s a really exciting indication that our modernized approach to sitting is resonating with the community.”

Parrott said that they are actively recruiting babysitters ages 13 and up who are interested. Parents looking for babysitters can create an account as well. Contact Parrott at carole.parrott@bambinositters.com.
