Two teens charged with robbery, kidnapping

Two 16-year-old China Grove youths face multiple felony counts involving robbery, kidnapping and theft of handguns.
James Bryant Drye, of 2184 Sam Broadway Loop, and David Watt Kelly, of 4245 First St., were being held in the Rowan County Detention Center Thursday night under $100,000 bond each. Their first court appearance is scheduled for Monday in Rowan County District Court.
According to information contained in arrest warrants, the crimes occurred over the past six weeks.
Drye is charged with seven counts, including first-degree burglary and robbery, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of larceny of a firearm.
Kelly faces five counts, including two counts of second-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
