Thursday weather concerns led to major revisions of the Central Carolina Conference and North Piedmont Conference tournaments.

Changes were announced Tuesday.

No games are scheduled for Thursday now. More games are scheduled to be played on Wednesday, and some new sites will come into play.

CCC girls

Two girls semifinals will be played at Salisbury on Wednesday.

Second-seeded North Davidson plays seventh-seeded Oak Grove at 6 p.m. Top-seeded Salisbury will play fourth-seeded West Davidson at 7:30 p.m. Salisbury will be looking for its 16th consecutive victory.

The championship game is still set to be played at Lexington on Friday.

CCC boys

Two boys semifinals will be played at Lexington on Wednesday.

Fifth-seeded Thomasville will play top-seeded North Davidson at 6 p.m. Sixth-seeded Ledford, which ousted Salisbury on Monday, will take on second-seeded Lexington at 7:30 p.m.

A “seed” game is planned, probably for Friday, between Central Davidson and Salisbury. Those teams tied for third in the regular season at 12-6. They split with each other and both lost in the first round of the tournament, so a game will need to be played to break the tie.

The CCC gets three automatic playoff berths. The loser of the “seed” game likely will still get an at-large berth in the 2A playoffs.

The championship game is still set to be played at Lexington on Friday.

NPC girls

First-round games were played on Tuesday. Statesville advanced with a 53-37 win against South Iredell. East Rowan won 50-43 against North Iredell.

Two girls semifinals are now set for Carson on Wednesday.

At 4:30 p.m., second-seeded West Rowan plays third-seeded East Rowan. It’s an important game, basically a “seed” game.

West and East tied for second in the standings in the regular season and split with each other, so the winner will be the NPC’s No. 2 seed for the 3A state playoffs. The loser will make the playoffs as an at-large team, but with a considerably lesser seed.

At 6 p.m., top-seeded Carson takes on fifth-seeded Statesville.

Carson will host Friday’s championship game.

NPC boys

In first-round boys games on Tuesday, North Iredell eliminated Carson 66-53 and South Iredell beat East Rowan 52-38.

East’s season is over. Carsons’s probably is as well.

Playoff brackets will be released by the NCHSAA on Saturday.

Two boys semifinals will be played on Wednesday — at two different sites.

Top-seeded Statesville hosts No. 4 North Iredell at 6 p.m.

Second-seeded West Rowan plays No. 3 seed South Iredell at 7:30 p.m. at Carson.

Carson will host Friday’s championship game.
