Letter: Every voter should support referendum

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is a family affair at the Hill house. By the time my twin boys graduate, a member of my family will have been a student at Rowan-Cabarrus for nine years in a row. The college has been, and continues to be, the source of our success, leading to successful, high-paying jobs here in Rowan County.
I encourage every Rowan County voter to approve the 2020 Rowan-Cabarrus Community College bond referendum at the polls on March 3. When you consider your vote, think about my family and the many students who will come after us, attending Rowan-Cabarrus and then living, working and becoming active contributors to our community.
My wife has a fulfilling nursing career, thanks to Rowan-Cabarrus. I graduated with degrees in mechanical engineering technology and industrial engineering technology and am now a project manager at a local machine design and construction company — a job made possible by a top-notch internship program that allows students to make meaningful connections with local employers. My twin sons are now attending the Rowan County Early College High School.
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is a life-changing place. No matter where students begin, or where they want to go, the College is with them on the journey. It’s a family, where you can reach out to anyone and know they all want the best for you.
Please support the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College bond referendum. You’ll be helping people like me and my family find their way forward.
