A man was injured early today in a house fire on Geter Road in the northwestern section of the county.
Neither the man’s name nor his condition were immediately available.
Wesley Steele of the Scotch-Irish Fire Department said the man was being loaded into a Rowan EMS unit when firefighters arrived at the scene around 7:30 a.m.
The fire was contained primarily to the inside of the one-story frame home at 980 Geter Road. The house was not habitable.
Woodleaf, Rowan-Iredell and Jerusalem fire departments assisted.
