CHINA GROVE — Carson’s eight-run fourth inning keyed a 9-6 win against Davie County on Friday.
Carson trailed 4-0 when the bats erupted in the fourth. Liza Simmerson’s two-run homer got the big inning started.
Kary Hales had three hits. Simmerson, Allie Burns and Landry Stewart had two each. Hales and Abbey Nixon had two RBIs.
Sydney Dirks hit a three-run homer in the third for the War Eagles (0-3).
Hales relieved Lonna Addison in the third inning and got the win in the circle.
Carson (2-1) out-hit Davie, 12-6.

MIDWAY — In a Central Carolina Conference game, South Rowan lost to Oak Grove, 16-3, on Friday.
Seven South errors led to 13 unearned runs for the Grizzlies.
McKinley Faw hit a solo homer for the Raiders (0-3, 0-1). Bailey Yon and Zoie Miller had RBIs.
Oak Grove had 11 hits, including a grand slam by Kady Livesay. Livesay went 4-for-4 and drove in eight runs for the Grizzlies (2-0, 1-0).

North Rowan swept a Yadkin Valley Conference doubleheader from Albemarle on Friday to open the season.
In the first game, North took a 3-2 win. Jaylah Bethea had two hits and Chloee Stoner struck out eight batters.
• In the second game, Stoner struck out 12 Bulldogs and hit a home run to spark a 5-0 victory. Lily Savage had three hits. Bella Smith had two hits.
