KANNAPOLIS ó At 10:26 p.m. Sunday, the Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2137 Lane St. Family members returned home to smell smoke and immediately called 911.
Upon arrival at 10:30 p.m,. fire crews found smoke coming from the residence and made access to the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and searched the home for extension. Firefighters covered up holes made to clear smoke because of the heavy snow falling at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire has been ruled to be electrical.
