McKnight Child Development Center, 1300 Glenn Ave., Kannapolis, is now accepting applications for the 2009-10 school year for children who will be 3 or 4 by Aug. 31.
The Kannapolis City School system has two preschool programs. Head Start is a program for 3- and 4-year-old income eligible children at McKnight. The Wee Wonders for 4-year-olds is available at Woodrow Wilson and Fred L. Wilson elementary schools.
Both programs offer kindergarten preparation through developmentally appropriate curriculum, bright classrooms and qualified and caring staff. Services are available for children with special needs.
Give your child that extra boost for kindergarten by calling the McKnight office at 704-932-7433 to make an appointment to complete an application. To complete an application, you must have the child’s birth certificate and immunization record, proof of residence in the Kannapolis City School system (light or water bill, etc.) and proof of family income.
For more information, call McKnight Center. Priority is given to eligible applications completed in February and March.
